    Humidity Advice
Hi all, first I want to say thank you to those that have answered my questions and given advice. I have gotten my first ball python! Everything is great and he is eating and has already shed fine. I'm so happy.
I plan on cleaning his tank soon and right now his humidity is at 75 on cold and 65 at hot. I'm using aspen shavings right now which I know isn't the best with humidity but obviously it's not causing a problem. What I want to know is should I change the substrate to something that others have suggested is better for ball pythons or stick with aspen. I just don't know if a different substrate will raise the humidity. Because I know that above 80% is a little high. Or if there is another substrate that you can recommend. Thank you.

Your humidity is a little too high actually, right now. Unless your snake is in shed, you want it about 50-60% max, & keep in mind that it's going to be lower on the warmer side, always.

Aspen is not generally recommended for BPs because it doesn't hold humidity- but obviously that's not an issue for you, for some reason.

Congratulations, btw, on getting your first BP- we look forward to meeting him.

Ok thank you, I have poked some holes in the tin foil roof to let some humidity out.
And here is my boy, his name is Rango.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...cea35bee6a.jpg
