Cool markings on a wild garter
I wanted to share pictures of what appears to be a garter snake variation. It has a vanishing top stripe. I thought it was pretty cool and I wanted to pass the find on to you all.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...dcb16e610a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b1e2123081.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...fed9ffb640.jpg

Looks like the ones on the Eastern Shore of MD. If I saw something different I’d think the same.

    Good luck finding some more.

Thanks! Where I am in Vermont seems to have some good variations in garter snake looks. Maybe they vary like this everywhere; I haven't really had the opportunity to search for snakes outside of Northern New England. I found a beautiful reduced pattern copper-coloured one years ago that I wasn't able to photograph which was disappointing. I'd have to say the greenish-blue checkered ones are my favourite.

Anyone else have a favourite colour or pattern variation for garters?
