using fiberglass to insulate tank

so i ordered frozen rats from online and the package came insulated with fiberglass. the length used in the package is exactly as long as my tank, if a bit shorter. i want to repurpose it to surround my bp's enclosure for extra insulation. i was thinking of just sandwiching in between two pieces of cardboard and then attaching the contraption to the tank. it'll look ugly, but hopefully would be functional. just wondering if there's any advice on how to do this better, or warnings against doing this?

the only thing I know to say is to be careful, I have 0 clue if fiberglass being near a snake could be dangerous, but as far as I know, and I most likely don't know, as long as the snake doesn't have the ability to even touch it, like no possible possibility of touching it, it should be fine? but hey, take it from other perspectives as well because I am most likely VERY wrong.

oh yeah! i forgot to clarify in my first post, but this would be going on the outside of her tank!

yeah pretty much the same answer, you would want like a protective wall to make sure the fiber glass isn't exposed because the mini fibers can get stuck in your skin and cause infection, the same thing goes for animals to! but as I said, get other input before taking my advice for this.

Yes, it should work well to insulate as long as it's outside the tank and covered. My order came with some with a layer of plastic over it, if yours didn't the cardboard can accomplish this. You just don't want those itchy fibers getting everywhere ya know? Also make sure there is a small gap at the bottom for heat to escape where the heat pad is.

sounds good! my order only came with enough fiberglass to cover one panel of her tank, so fortunately it won't be anywhere near the uth. but that is good to know for the future :^)
