some of my babies from this year
a few of the babies i produced so this year were fired up after their misting and crickets tonight so i decided to snap a some pics. i'm pretty excited about a few of the red ones (i LOVE red!). here they are, from oldest to youngest. these are all holdbacks, so far. ;)

this one looks to be male (which is good, because i need a good red male), and keeps getting redder by the day. i am now sorry that i sold his older red sibling!

the colors on this gecko are totally not what i expected, but i am hoping it continues to turn red so i'll have a nice red fire/harlequin.

sibling to the gecko above and just starting to show some red.

not sure where the color on this one is going yet, but i like the dorsal pattern and overall patterning.

this is the little baby from an egg that i thought to be infertile (supposedly the female had never been with a male, but surprise!) but popped in the incubator anyhow. still only 3 grams at almost 2 months old this was a tiny hatchling but its doing well and growing, just a little slower than normal.

i like the nice thick "flames" on this one's sides. this is a sibling to the above red geckos, so who knows how it will turn out.

nice group of babies! i like the red fire one alot too. if you can get pin head crickets, the little ones will grow fast on those. i like that little one(5th pic).

Not to steal the thread or anything but do cresteds need heat besides room heat?

Oh, congratulations Emily! Those are gorgeous little babies! What kind of enclosure are you keeping them in at that age?

i give that one crickets a bit more often than the others get them plus the cgd. it is doing well, just still little. i saw on anthony's site once that he had some hatch out really small like that and that sometimes it happens with a first clutch--he said they eventually catch up but it takes about 6 months longer for them to reach normal adult size.

room temp is fine for cresteds. anything between about 65-80 is good.

i keep them in kritter keepers. i keep clutchmates together, starting out in small kritter keepers and moving up to medium and then large, etc. and separating if one becomes male and they start to pick at eachother.
