    Some folks...

We have a family owned pet store where I live that keeps their puppies up by the front store windows. Someone came by and busted the glass out and stole two of them, I think they were like $1200 each. Luckily that store has been in business for 30 years and has a huge, local, social media following. It went out all over the place and I guess the folks got nervous and brought them back. Left them in some carriers outside the store in the middle of the night.

Sad story though, I hope it gets returned and that this wasn't a "oh that looks cool" theft where these folks have no idea what to do with it.

Theft of pets makes me so mad. I just don't understand what would make someone do that of all the things to steal. The amount of theft at the pet store I worked at as a teenager was astronomical. And some of them were dumb enough to come back with the item and try and "return" it for cash as if they bought it and changed their mind. Occasionally it was really expensive parrots, and I hate to think what the poor bird was going through wherever they hid it to get out of the store. Poor babies don't deserve that, items are bad enough, but a live animal should never be stolen.

Here's one with an uncommon "happy" ending: https://www.12news.com/article/life/...9-d72f15b55383

Animal thieves are just dirt-bags, IMO.

One of our local reptile stores had a terrible problem with thieves up until a couple of years ago. They had no room for displays and so their baby snakes were stacked everywhere, the amphibians were in a tank right by the front door, beardies in the front window, etc. etc. It was a very old building and the owner didn't have enough money to remodel until they had a fire (don't think they lost too many animals) and the insurance finally came through and he was able to afford enclosures with locks and an improved security system. Because yes, people are [losers] and will steal ANYTHING.
