on Jan. 30th me and my family welcomed a new family member, my first scale baby!!! he is super snuggly already and sometimes doesn't let me even put him down! he absolutely loves to explore the world (my room and living room) and loves to see the world from around my neck! he so far is a little head shy but excepts and enjoys Boops! he is only a year old. and ate for us! he made his first doo doo yesterday. we were so proud of him! and now he is trying to crawl into the trash can- gimme a minute. ok, he is a normal, he has no mites on him either, if anyone was curious we got him from Breeder's circle! he is a super nice guy and he keeps good care of his snakes! I love my little Beans.

Congratulations on your new addition. I know you're excited but I have to ask, did you and your dad correct some of those issues we discussed last week with your tub?

He's still quite new to his new home- I'm very glad you got him to eat for you, but that was pushing your luck, offering so soon after his arrival. Whether a snake is a hatchling or an older one, it's better to wait a week or two to feed, and especially it's best to wait for handling him so much. You don't want to handle for at least a day or 2 after they've eaten, so they don't regurgitate their meal. Regurgitation is a big set-back, because then you have to wait longer to feed them again, & it's not always without harm.

Glad to hear you got the housing fixed too. Keep checking for mites, just in case- they don't always show up right away.

Congrats on getting your first noodle! :snake: :)

Glad to hear you guys made some alterations to your tub. Like Bogertophis said, I would hold off on handling so much especially right after he eats. Give him time to settle in and get comfortable in his new house. I know you're excited, but trust me, you've PLENTY of time with that guy handle him. No reason to rush it :)

Some current photos! He getting his dose of snuggles, oh yeah, the last photo.... yeah thats dinner the rat pup! Beans decided he wasn't hungry, for a couple weeks straight.... so we contacted the breeder and they suggested getting a live rat pup instead, since thatis what he was raised with. So we did, and beans decided he wasn't hungry. NOW WE HAVE A TINY RAT LIVING IN A TANK IN MY ROOM. THANKS BEANS.https://ball-pythons.net/forums/cach...b3fac36937.jpghttps://ball-pythons.net/forums/cach...7b6a020568.jpghttps://ball-pythons.net/forums/cach...577fa50914.jpghttps://ball-pythons.net/forums/cach...b863b28896.jpg

oh yeah quick edit we have had this rat for three days and he wasn't eating for three reasons. not that hungry, he was a bit chilly, and he (at the time) was still shedding. he finished shedding that day and we are going to try again todayyyy
