A day or so before you risk him getting sick. When you replace it buy two, because two is one, one is none.

The above! An then order a six pack from Amazon. Even with one snake, dog or cat you need extras. Weather a collar or feed. Back up for the back up!

Ask any wrench how many 10mm sockets they loose a year.

    Good luck!

An I should have added, when you find a lamp out use a normal light bulb for emergency heat. That's if you don't have back-up. LED lights don't throw heat so you need old school.

    Good luck!

And good luck finding incandescent bulbs. :( I stocked up when they were going out so I still have a bunch, but they'll run out eventually and I'll be sad when it happens.

60w bulbs are still being made in bulk. I buy 100w "work lights" or "heavy duty" at ACE, Lowes an Home Depo. Some times they are called trouble lights. I have a plastic tub full of them just because.

    Good luck!

So far I've had no trouble finding incandescent "specialty bulbs" (red or black bulbs, & "spotlights") but it's something to think about for sure. They intend to do away with incandescent bulbs, so the future may come down to CHE's being the only option for this type of heat option in snake-keeping.
