Not Eating

Grim (aka-Pokey) suddenly in the past 2 weeks has decided not to eat. She ate 3 times in a row for me great. But now, nope, nada! Doesn't want her mice.

How many weeks should I wait before I take her to the vet. (she has gone once already for just a check up). Is this a normal winter thing?

All of my snakes are in my daughter's bedroom at a nice temp (her ambient tank temp is 85 and the humidity stays around 30%- but I do mist it twice daily to bump it up into the 70's) there is a humidity hide on the warm side and an UTH. She also has a basking light.

I recently switched her to Desert Snow since the aspen bedding was really wicking out the moisture. Could she prefer the aspen more?

Any ideas?

double check all your temps and husbandry. pay close attention to the cool side temps day/night. the change of substrate could be a cause, any change in setup can/might be a reason for fasting/stress.

First question is how big is your ball python? It could be since you changed its environment it stressed it.Or if its a adult ball python this is the time of the year for breeding so it might be the reason.Unless your snake is showing signs of being ill they can go up to a year(adults) without eating.Keep a close eye on it just incase.

Are you saying his enclosure is at one temp? He needs one side at about 90 degrees and a cool side at about 80 to 85.He needs to be able to regulate his body temp.If he stays at one temp he can develope problems.I breed ball pythons and once you have thier temps right you should have no problems with them.
