    Update on the crew
I'm actually pretty stoked. My one female who went on a 5 week fast has eaten for the last 3 weeks, and I thought she might refuse since she went completely blue this week! :D

My other big girl who always eats is becoming quite a chunker. ;)

Carma and Turtle are still little monster eaters!

And for the grand finale.... Norbert took his first f/t for me today!! Hooray!! Yippee!! :psychotic

It kinda makes up for the sick child (for almost the whole week) who brought home the stomach bug, especially since he gave it to me too. :bonk: Anyway, I figured I'd share since very few other people understand why I'm so excited. :stupidme: :D

That's great! I get stoked every week when Monty takes a f/t.

Thanks. Isn't it funny what gets us so excited? Yesterday I also noticed little Carma is blue. The little girl wasn't even all snuggled up in her hide. She's got her head poked out, checking stuff out. It must be the rack, that makes her feel secure since I've never really been able to really check them out if they were shedding. (unless I opened up their hide) So now I've got two in shed as well. Ahhhh, the joys of snake ownership. :D

Wonderful Christie! So glad they are all rocketing along for you now!

Hmmm ever noticed when we gab on the phone that we talk about our kids for oh say 5 minutes and our snakes for oh say.....50 minutes or more. :P

LOL!! At least!! I'd say more like the next 90 minutes, but then again it all depends if the little kiddies let us keep gabbing about the snakes. Although, with my son being sick last week he did get a bit more of the attention since he was driving me nuts. (oh and by the way, now the daughter has it! Last night was a nightmare :tears: )

A frozen/thawed rodent. I'm still getting used to all the acronyms and terminology myself :D

Yup that's right. Norbert was the only hold out, but after a couple live feedings I tried the switch back to frozen/thaw and bingo! It's so much cheaper to do the whole bulk frozen thing. Of course I may end up going the whole live route again, if I ever get into breeding the little suckers.

Oooops sorry....you'll see people refer to prey as either "live, p/k or f/t"...meaning they feed the prey to the snake either live, pre-killed (kill it then feed it immediately) or frozen thawed where you can buy in ahead then defrost and warm up what prey you need each week.

Everyone does it the way they feel is best for themselves or their particular snake. Each way has it's pro's and con's and there a ton of threads here to help anyone decide which way they are most happy with or what their snake will consistently accept.
