    Too large of prey?
So I fed my BP tonight, she is currently eating as I’m typing this. But she has been eating small mice for about a month. She is 165 grams and I fed her a rat pup tonight. The widest part of her was the same size of the pup. I’m just scared I moved her to them too soon. She’s taking much longer to finish this meal than she has eating the small adult mice. I’m just freaked that if she does get it down, it will be too large and she’ll regurg.

It's probably fine, but don't handle her, & make sure she has good temperatures in her home. If it's any consolation, there is no delivery of perfectly-sized prey when these snakes evolved in the wild- they take their chances, eating whatever they can catch & whatever fits. Congrats on getting her to just take a rat with no hesitation- they smell & presumably taste different from the mice she's been eating, & some snakes (BPs especially) can be finicky about switching over. Nothing you can do now but "wait & see".

I have a smaller, young female (179gr as of today) that’s been eating rat weanlings since about 140grams.
the biggest one she ate was just about 40 grams and was the same diameter as she is.

They can put down amazingly large meals with ease.

just make sure your temps are good and give the little one a couple of days to digest before handling. I give my little one 48hrs of digestion time after a meal before handling again... long enough for the bulge to subside and digestion to be well under way.

I’ve seen my snakes take down some pretty large meals so I’m confident your BP should be just fine.
