is it ok to keep brothers and sisters togeather?
Ok so I was at the pet store yesterday and they had some new ball baby’s in. there was four of them in one cage. So I asked the girl I thought you could not have more then one ball in a cage at a time. She replied that if they’re from the litter then its fine. So my question is, if you bought two brothers and put them in one enclosure how long could they stay in it till they would have to be moved to there own cage. Or could you leave them in the same one for ever?

a common pet store LIE or lack of knowledge. Balls should not be kept togetehr if you wish to give them the best care possible. If you do a search there are MANY posts about this issue.

no i have read several post in regards to keeping balls togeather. Just not about snakes from the same litter. It very well may be a lie. I just figured i might get a breeder to tell me if its true or not. Or if anyone has had any experience with this.

The fact that she called the group coming from the same "litter" should also be a flag that they had no idea what they were talking about. Brothers and sisters hatch from the same CLUTCH.

    Litter of puppies
    Clutch of ball pythons

yes clutch is what she said, i just did not remember. so no one the breeds ball pythons has ever kept a clutch togeather after there born? So you must seperate them right away.

I separate neonate ball pythons into individual enclosures within 15 days of hatching ... usually sooner than that.

My parents couldn't keep me and my sisters together or we would kill each other. now that I'm a parent i cant keep my kids together. humans are at the top of the food chain with large brains but we still fight with each other. i could only imagine what snakes would do.
