    Should I remove the hide?
Hello..I just got my retic baby about 5 days ago..I would love to get him out but I’m not to sure if I should remove his little hut..I’ve been waiting for him to come out for some water so I could maybe get him out then but it seems he’s made himself cozy in his little house..I’ve been talking to him as I try to move his hut to better see him and all I get from that is the feeling of me just stressing him out.So should I just go slow and take his hut completely out or wait for him to come out by himself?

No handling aside from enclosure maintenance until it has taken a few consecutive meals. Gives you a better chance of establishing the animal in it’s new environment.

    This^^

It was always suggested to me to avoid handling with most snakes until they've taken 3-4 consecutive meals from you. Let him settle in and figure out where he's at. I don't keep retics, but with my ball python I let him settle in for almost a month before I ever handled him for anything other than enclosure maintenance. Then when I did, I would wait until the evening when he was out on his own before I would reach in and try to handle.
