    Radiant oil heater...
Those of you heating your room for racks; what oil heater are you using? Room is like 13x13 . Okay to run on carpet?

I run a Delonghi analog dial oil heater in my 9’x10’ room and generally only need the low setting with the dial turned to about 4 at most. Room is carpeted. Been using it for 10yrs with no problems.

Will be setting it up with a VE hi-power stat and night drop when it gets here Monday to control day/night high/low temps as I begin temp cycles for the season.

1500 total. Low switch is 700, medium is 800. Flip both on for all 1500watts.
This is the exact model I have.

Yup I use this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...&psc=1&fpw=alm

I use it on a digital thermostat on a carpet/rug. Love it.

I do use a small fan with it as well to circulate heat. I find a big variance from top to bottom of the rack if I do not use the fan. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...&psc=1&fpw=alm

So the one I picked up this morning is a 1500 watt...it can run on 700/1500/or eco mode but the temp settings on it are 5 degree increments so i can set to either 75 or 80 with no in between. Should I be okay with the 80? Or would you still run it on a thermostat?...unit does have overheating protection which I assume is a fuse of some sorts

Digital readout on the heater itself? They’ll work for an undetermined amount of time but that’s generally the first thing to crap the bed with those. Also heard there can be issues with that style when connected to an actual thermostat as well. Highly suggest the analog models.

I think I’ll end up using the digital for a little bit until I can situate the analog with a thermostat. Im getting some VE racks situated and they have a 6-7 week lead time anyways and just have my jungle in there with the room set to 75 and providing a 90 hotspot in her enclosure.

The one I picked up doesn’t actually have a digital readout but rather temperature settings. Seems the biggest complaint is about the lack of lower temperature settings which shouldn’t be an issue.
