    Flaky belly scales?
My bp has a mild case of scale rot and I've been treating her for a few weeks now. Noticed little transparent scale flakes in her tank about two weeks in, after some reading it sounds like this could be caused by the polysporin I'm using after her betadine baths. I have seen mixed answers ranging from this being a normal part of the healing process to it being an issue and that the polysporin suffocates the scales and causes this. Is there a better way to be treating scale rot? Should I leave the scales be or her her work the flaky scales off? And should I be concerned about this and if so what's the best course of action? Thanks so much for reading, fist time dealing with any issue like this in five years of reptile keeping and I am a bit lost!

Vetericyn ointment- it's water soluble & made FOR snakes & such- not petroleum based the way Neosporin & Polysporin are. It's the petroleum-based ointments that mess up shedding.
