Seeking Advice For Long Car Trip
I'm moving from Atlanta to Northern Michigan this December. I'll be driving up with my 3 year old snake, Daisy. I'll stay overnight in a hotel half-way, for a two-day drive. Any advice?
I was thinking Daisy would be fine in the car without a heatpack. I would bring her into the hotel that night. Thinking maybe a pillow case and in a small plastic container with holes. Any suggestions? Id it better to have a heat pack and insulated box? Any good DIY sites for this?
Thanks

Given your geographic destination and time of year I’d pack as though you were shipping the animal. Snake in bag, in an insulated box, with shredded newspaper to heat pack if needed. I usually stick a thermometer probe in the box so I can keep an eye on temps and address them as needed.

shredded newspaper to cushion and make the animal feel more secure, heat pack(s) on hand if needed

I sure hope you like snow and frigid temperatures. LOL I would stay in Atlanta if I were you.
Be sure to prepare for possible issues like car trouble or snow storms. It gets bad up that way in December. Better to be prepared than not.
Best of luck on your journey.

Good thought. Those of us in warmer climates tend to forget about winter storms.
I would suggest trying to find fellow herpers along your route who you could call on for help in case you get stranded.
