Could a snake escape?

So I'm 99% done building my enclosure, all that's left is to head up to the local park, find some branches, and treat them before putting them in. Will attach a picture below.

The problem is, there's a 0.8cm (~5/16 in) gap between the two panes of glass. The panes have a 2" overlay if that makes any difference. Should I be worried about that? I guess I could cut a really thin strip of PVC (Probably ~0.5cm) and attach it between the panes if so with double sided tape.

They'll try is the problem even if they can't physically fit, many will shove in enough to hurt themselves. Is it big enough a snake would try to stick their nose in? Really can't hurt to block off any inviting escape routes with snakes, they don't have much to do but try and explore.

Agree with GoingPostal's post. Never tempt a snake to escape...they often hurt themselves trying, & some have even died as a result. They tend to get stuck, cannot back
out & die from injuries. I'd fill the gap...:gj:

Yeah true... I cut a .5cm strip of PVC and attached it to one of the glass panes, shouldn't be an issue now :D

I've also seen weather stripping used to fill that gap.

You beat me to it. I've used weather stripping on glass enclosures with screen lids to close that gap. I would imagine it would work for this application as well.
