what's cooking? (or, "It's a dry heat.")

RATS are, that's what. And mice! I live in Phoenix and over the summer I discovered that the best way to thaw rats and mice was set them out on the back patio in 115 degree heat for about an hour or so, then they are perfectly heated inside and out. I got very good response from my BP's, more enthusiastic than ever before-- picky things that they are. It's soooo much better than soaking them in a jar, that, even when double-bagged, sometimes they leak, and you have to fill up with warm water several times and be careful not to forget or you have to re-soak to re-heat before feeding. Now it's slightly cooling off. Last week I decided to put some frozen mice in our toaster oven instead. The low temp is 150, and I cooked them for 30 minutes, then let them sit for about 15 more minutes to make sure they were not too hot, and it was perfect.

Anyway, I just wanted to share. No one else would understand. :rofl:
