My Ball Python Only Eats Small Prey
So i have a 1 year old female spider bp. she was a great eater and didnt show any severe cases of wobbling but 4 months earlier her weight was 820 gram(she was pretty skinny and long) and ussualy i gave her only adult mice each week so i decided to gave her a medium rat about 80 grams she took it but since then she fasting for about 1 month and only ate small mice ,always refused rat and adult mice so i decided to give her space and never interupted and slowly giving her food.

Now she only eats small rat about 40 gram per week even longer and her weight is 890 gram for the heat mat the temperature around 86-88 degree
And the cool side is 78 degree ,the ambient temperature around 80-81 degree and i never seen her staying on the heat side.

What should i do so she can eat appropriate size meal?
P.S. sorry for my bad english

That is an appropriate size meal at her size

That only applies until they’re over 250grams or so. I have a 1600gram male that eats a small rat every 12-14+ days and will still occasionally go on a food strike. Only larger females ever really need med rats

    Agreed again.

That rule goes out the window once they're no longer "juvenile". I wish more people who shared that "rule of thumb" shared that.

My males are both a bit under 1600 and eat a small rat every 10-14 days. Usually closer to 14, but they're both eating like pigs right now so closer to 10.

The size of the prey sounds fine and honestly as long as they're eating consistantly or at good intervals, and aren't losing weight (should be gaining of course) then there's no need to worry too much.
