    Size and growth of my ball pythons
    Hello everyone, I Am still quite new to the ball python world (I've had mine for just 1 year and a half). My male is 2 years old and not the best of eaters but nothing alarming regarding what I know of BP feeding habbits. He seems to be in good health, nice temperment and normal behaviour, he is 3 feet and 3 inches long and weighs about 930g. My female is a good eater, she very rarely refuses a meal, she 3 years old, 4 feet (121 cm) and weighs about 1800g, but she seems to have stopped growing for a while now. Do you think my snakes are a normal size and weight? Is it normal for a female BP to only be about 4 feet ? I thought adult females were supposed to be about 5 feet. Will she stay at about 4feet (I would have no problem with that by the way ^^)

    I hope people with more experience than will have some answers

    Cheers averyone!

    Just posted that in another thread
    Quote:

    As for growth a good average growth is about 500 grams per year, for an animal that is fed approximately once a week.

    Now some animals might be double that in a year and some might be less there are a lot of factor in play, weight out of the egg, how soon they eat on their own, genetics, food refusal, fast etc.
    There are few things people need to understand

    Feeding = Growth
    Adult = Slower metabolism = Slower Growth

    She is young she still has room to grow I have animal that were 1500 grams by 2 to 3 years and are now 3000+, it does not happen overnight, just like some female will remain on the smaller side and stay in the 2500 grams range.

    There is nothing wrong with the size of your female or length.
