Hatchling with swallowing issues
So we fed our hatchlings this morning for the first time. When I went back to check on them I noticed that one of them appeared to have gotten the pinkie rat hung in it’s throat. I gave it an extra 30 minutes or so and it still had not gotten it swallowed. Long story short it had to regurgitate it. This evening (probably out of bad judgement) I dropped a fuzzy mouse in the tub with her. She nailed it immediately and now it’s stuck in her throat also. Has anyone had this issue? FYI I assure you the fuzzy mouse is not to big. The way the picture is taken makes it look huge. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...099b001940.jpg

Re: Hatchling with swallowing issues
I've never had that issue in particular. The photo does make the food item look large for the snake.
I do have a few hatchlings each year that have high anxiety and will regurge if I re-enter the room after they have eaten. Handling one after it had eaten would definitely cause problems. In the event that I do need to move around the room after they have eaten I will tread softly and make sure the light sources are positioned so that I don't cast shadows on their enclosures. I will usually move the 'high anxiety' snakes to the tops of my racks so that they have minimal exposure until they grow larger/calmer...
