Can some explain RHPs to me?
I am wondering if the RHP is supposed to replace the heat lamp or the heat pad. I have been searching all around but haven't been able to find anyplace that answers my question.

With my enclosures that have RHPs I don't run any additional heat. The RHP creates the temp gradient on its own.

Any new enclosures I buy will be heated with RHPs as well. They're so much easier than heat lamps and mats. They run more efficiently as well.

It's just another type of heat source stands for Radiant Heat Panel, and it's better suited in some type of enclosures compare to others for example PVC cages. You would not however put it in a tank.

Sweet thank you for the help! I'm looking to upgrade my snakes tank to a PVC one and want to make sure I set it up with the best stuff

Can't go wrong with PVC, a RHP and a thermostat.

I agree with Craig. I'm in the process of converting all my enclosures to PVC and I'll use RHPs as my exclusive heat source in those enclosures with the exception of my bullsnakes. I'll keep using UTHs for them.
