Heated Reptile Rooms?

Hi guys, I wanted to ask if any of you heat your reptile rooms and if so, what kind of heater do you have and what kind of safety features does it have? I need to be able to heat my snake room but my dad is concerned to have a heater on all the time because he's worried of a fire hazard. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Mine doesn't have an extra heater in it per se, but it does have a small chest freezer where I keep feeders so the exhaust from that keeps the room a few degrees warmer than the rest of the house.

I use multiple Ceramic Heat Emitters (matching wattage) in appropriate rated ceramic reflectors scattered through my snake rooms hooked up to pulse proportional thermostats. The CHE's are in positions where there is nothing flammable nearby or underneath and they are out of my way. I divide the CHE's between two proportional thermostats in case one of the thermostats fails. Due to fact that the pulse proportional thermostats don't run the CHEs at a constant rate-they last for many years before I need to replace them. Using this method: The higher the wattage and lower the number of CHE's: the greater the risk. The lower the wattage and the higher the number of CHE's: the lower the risk. :)

You need a oil filled heater with a reliable thermostat like this https://www.reptilebasics.com/thermostats/ve-hi-power/ (not the oil filled heater thermostat as those are not reliable and tend to go bad)

Been running this setup for 14 years without issue.

I have an oil filled heater plugged into a Lux thermostat. It has a 2 degree differential and it works great.

I use an oil filled with a digital thermostat set at 75

I use a small electric heater with thermostat control to boost my reptile room ambient temps. It's plugged into a surge protector but that's about it.

I also use an oil filled heater in my snake room.

Oil filled radiator, and this is important, the style with an analog dial. The digital ones notoriously fail. I keep mine on a thermostat and have the dial set scarcely higher than the thermostat temp. In the event that the thermostat should fail then the heater can’t get more than a couple degrees above my desired room temp
