Bp hasn't pooped

Was wondering if its normal for bp to go 2 feedings and not poop. I've feed my guy twice and he pooped a little bit but I'm coming up on his feed day and don't know if it will be bad if he eats again

I'm no expert but it's not uncommon for mine to go multiple feedings. I've read the younger they are the more they are growing and the more of their meal that they are using.

Ya makes a lot of sense he is younger for sure. Thanks for the advice

Yeah they often 'save' it up and then poop at the end of a shed. This is both relieving and smelly.

How much does the snake weigh?
What size prey are you feeding?

If his prey size is too small he's using 100%of his meal for growth, so there's nothing left to poop.

A nice temped soak will help.

It can be quite random, some ball pythons will hold it in as long as possible.
I read an article recently about how Justin Kobylka believes it to be a survival mechanism, as in the wild rodents can smell python poop and no self respecting rodent will go near a ball python.
In theory, your snake may be holding it in an attempt to increase the likelihood of a rodent "accidentally" entering his hide.

Someone also posted an intersting article here a few months ago theorizing that heavy bodied constrictors may save their poo because the extra weight in their lower body acts as a sort of counter ballast to give them better balance when wrestling prey.

In short, it's probably normal but please make sure you are feeding properly sized prey. Rule of thumb is 10-15% of body weight, or same girth as thickest part of the snake. [emoji846]

My 1.5 year old BP only poops every month to month and a half sometimes with his shed. But when he does poop they are massive!! It’s totally normal to go more than two weeks without a poop especially if they’re young. As long as there is no bulge near the anus and he keeps eating.
