Tail was sticking up about 4 inches
I'm waiting for my 25 year old ball (never been with a male) to lay eggs, she took 48 days last year, and its been around 40 days so far this year from the pre-lay shed.

I noticed her tail sticking right up, but nothing came of it, is this a sign they are getting ready to lay by any chance?

Apart from going to the toilet or maybe mating, I donno why else they would do that.

I suppose it could be, though I've mostly seen it when a snake is about to let loose some stool or urates. But you have to figure that eggs put pressure internally, so it
stands to reason that your BP might have felt like she had to 'go', & that's why nothing came of it.

She just laid in the night/this morning, so a couple of days after the tail thing.
    So maybe some connection.

I'm gonna have to remove her later to get to the eggs, I donno how many there are, or if there's any left to come out.
They are probably non-viable as she hasn't been with a male ever.
Just need to try and not get mauled.

    Hi,

They do raise the tail during egg laying but it needs to be considered as part of a larger set of signs - is the tail in the center of the coils? can you see the bulge of the eggs right down by the vent?

If any of the last two are negative it's probably poop - and if the tail is on the outside but you can see a buldge it's what we call "sausage butt" :D

Glad to hear about the eggos though - Congratulations. :salute:
