I got a mouse today for my baby's first feeding (with me anyway). I thawked him once quick, put him in a secondary tote, then put my BP in there. First he just smelled the mouse a bit and I thought 'ut-oh' he's not going to eat. I'm going to have a finiky python. He doens't like mice. etc etc. So I flicked the mouse a bit to make him move.... Holy crap bat man! As Emeril would say "Bam!"
After nearly a week of thinking I have gotten the laziest most laid back snake ever my little boy turned into the ultimate killing squeezing death machine. He practicly swallowed that mousy in two gulps. I am not kidding, that thing was gone in like 60 seconds. Then he started looking around for another. What a little piggy. I didn't have another, I was worried about the mousy being too big, but now I think next time I'll get him a smallish rat. Seriously, I can't believe my danity little guy swallowed that mouse like I would take an asprin.
I was going to wait like an hour to move him back to his home but after 2 minutes I could see the bulge half way down his body so I put him back and he imeadiatly curled up in his coconut over the heat pad and hasn't come out since. I'll just leave him alone now for a couple days.
Whew, I'm glad thats over. I think who ever had him before must have fed him live rodants, he difinetly wanted his kicking. I'll just have to get something long to make them twitch. I was lucky this time that his aim was right. No idea the little bugger was that fast.
