    Female gaining alot of weight.
Hey guys just had a quick question. So for the past 6 months I have been building up my collection and I have a 2016 female that I purchased and last she laid was 2018 and was not bred 2019.

When I purchased her 2 months ago, she was 1528 grams. And exactly 2 months later and 8 meals (small rats) in she is 2108 grams empty.

So my question is. Is it normal for a girl to gain 600 grams in 2 months without being pregnant and just building for 'November'? I wanted to start breeding my 5 females that are 1500+ this year and am pushing off an incubator until the end of the year.

I have palpitated her and dont feel any 'bumps' should I start building an incubator?

    Thanks a bunch guys.

They dont build for any month. They build when they are ready. Id say shes building because shes healthy and ready to breed

And is there any % of building that I should look for in the next few months and also for my other females? 40% increase in 2 months just seems like a lot to me. 🤷:cens0r:♂️

40% is a lot but shes also a seasond breeder. I don't just go by weight. I know my snakes well enough to see whos ready. Their scales look more iridescent. Certain behaviors i look for. Id personally say your girl is ready to pair. But obviously only you can see her behavior to know 100%

Awesome. I appreciate the info! Today is feeding day so after I feed her I'll wait a few days and throw a male in there. 😁
