Morph and or species identification

I was given this boa. He was said to be an American boa?!? I'm thinking he might be a Central American boa. Is it a redtail boa

I rescued Butch 5 years ago. He has not noticeably grown since I’ve had him, he is somewhere between 5-6 feet. I don’t know his age or lineage. His markings are similar to yours.

Since he is smallish for an adult I highly suspect that he has some Central American blood in him. But all I can say is that he is a common wild type Boa, or as many people refer to as a “Colombian”.

With out knowing any lineage it's hard to say as the gene pool been so mixed up over the past few decades on boas,
With the high speckling looks almost like the Nicaraguan I used to have
Probably the bloodline is central American it so hard to tell

What a lovely boa! I love the busy, ornate pattern and the bit of chaining on the medallions near the tail. I'd definitely recommend quarantining them in a room separate from the rest of your collection if you can -- with boas of unclear origin, the threat of IBD is there.

Your boa's certainly an imperator, and the pattern definitely strikes me as Central American. Can't really narrow it down more from there, though. Good luck, and keep us updated!
