Cop rescues 8-foot snake found outside Bronx house
A house in the Bronx got a special visitor on its doorstep Friday morning: an 8-foot boa constrictor, according to police.

Fortunately, New York's finest snake handler was on the scene and made sure everybody was safe

"The skin was clear, the coat was clear," he said. "It was moving. It wasn't lethargic. It was definitely someone's snake."

    The "COAT"???
 Begs the question, what are well-dressed boas seen wearing these days? Angora, perhaps? Alpaca?

I'm just happy this turned out well for the snake...I hope he gets a good (responsible) home now, one that doesn't allow him to escape. :snake:

IK! An 8 foot boa could down a 5 foot human no problem! :rofl:Although I think most humans would give them digestion issues with the amount of cloths, makeup, and chemicals most people put on their skin.

Why does this never happen to me? I would love to have and 8 foot boa!

    Some of the

" I once had a customer in the Bronx who proudly showed me his Boa constrictor. Two months later they found his body, half devoured by his lovely "pet!"

"Another invasive species that doesn’t need to be over here."

"Those things should not be allowed as pets. They get loose too often"

"If it wasn't for all the money hungry handlers, then that snake would have been free."

".what would have happened if a small child had been near there "

"Why rescue a snake? Kill the damn thing it would kill you if it got a chance, and it damn sure is not native to NY city."

"Thanks officer, I'm glad you got it before it killed and ate any people."

"When these critters are found, they should immediately be shot or otherwise put down. They are a danger."

Well considering the animal is illegal there we know the owner is not gonna come forward and sadly because it is illegal it will likely be put down, as for the comments well

And at it's size / age that's just Sad and Cruel!

There are so many people who would come take that snake to where it is legal and take care of it there is No Reason to euthanize it!!
