Ball python hasn't ate for nearly 3 months
Hi all, I've had my ball python for over a year now and around 2 1/2 months ago he stopped eating and the closest he has been to being intrested in the rat was striking at it around a week ago. I know that snakes go on hunger strikes here and there but I'm not too sure what to do and when to try again since rats can add up in price after a while lol. He doesn't seem to be losing weight and I try to heat them up until warm.Have any of you had problems like this? How long should I wait until I take him to the vet perhaps? I've seen lots of things all over the internet on what to do but I felt like addressing my situation and not looking at forum posts from 10 years ago lol. Thanks again.

Also hes currently around 2.5 feet and I keep him in a 40 gallon with 50-60 percent humidity with two hides on each side.

What are your temps? What is his current weight?

If your temps are dialed in, and your snake isn't I'll, then it's just a matter of time before he eats again. I'd keep offering food every 2-4 weeks until he's back on track. You can also try a small live feeder or a different prey type to see if that jumpstarts his appetite.
