    i have a problem
    i have a 20 l tank for my bp and i have 100 w heat lamp above on the left side adn the temps arent getting hight enough one side is like 87 (under the lamp) and the other side is like 77-78 i have a heat mat under the middle of the tank and my temps still dont get high enough so i put a towl over the top and the tepms rose 2 degrees on each side and they are still to liw should i get a huiman heat mat and put it under the tank to try to worm it up or what?

    try putting something solid like a book or piece of wood over the side that the towls on instead of a towel(i would think the towl wouldnt retain temperature that much). i had the same problem when i had vanessa in a 20g tank for a couple months. it worked for me. good luck!

    Try and find something to use as insulation around the back and sides. I used blankets, but you can try whatever you have handy. I use a space heater to keep the room nice and toasty. It's my favorite room right now!! :D I hate cold!!

    i picked up one of them reflectors you see in car windshields in the summer that blocks the sun. i cut it to fit around my sterilite. works great and it upped my temps by 5 deg on the cool side. i have the left overs on top to hold in more heat. i got mine from big lots for $3.99 i might go back and pick up a few more.
