    Feeding During a Shed
So my boy Morty is 3 days into his shed and it seems to be going fine but my question is do I attempt to feed him where it's his normal feeding day? I ask because I see that some snakes refuse to even bother eating during their shed. Hes a young snake so I hate to deprive him of needed calories and nutrients if I dont need to. Should I just toss a mouse in and monitor him?

Some snakes will eat during the shedding process and some won't. There's nothing wrong with attempting to feed but I usually just wait until after they've completely finished shedding to feed.

I went ahead and tried. He ate just fine. Sometimes I overthink things. Lol

Its fine. Don't worry about overthinking. You will get used to the process. Once the snake has weight on it I don't even bother offering in shed. Especially to the animals that take FT because you will just end up wasting a rat. They will do just fine waiting a week or so for them to come out of shed.
