    Savus Anyone?
Anyone have experience with savu pythons?
There is virtually no information on them and the information there is, is super varied. One says you should have a hot spot of 100f and others claim it should be 85f, and the humidity is all over the place. Any links to any sort of care (so I can determine what the consensus on heating, humidity, feeding, all kinds of captive care are) OR any experience you have with these rad looking snakes. I have heard their husbandry is similar to BRBs. Not sure though.

    Welcome to the forum.

You are in luck! One of our most experienced members, BCR has some Savus. I’m sure that she will check in. Keep checking back yourself.

I keep Savu pythons. Tried my hand at breeding them this past season but unless the male was really sneaky about it, I never caught a lock.

These guys are fun to keep; very active, outgrow the baby nippiness quickly, semi-arboreal, not shy, etc. They are voracious and will readily take f/t mice, very small chicks, or rat fuzzies.

I run mine in tubs with moderate humidity at 75*F to 88*F and they do just fine. They have adapted to living all over the tiny island of Sawu so they don't have narrow husbandry criteria like a BRB would. Set them up like a carpet python or boa imperator.

Thank you so much! I´m trying to do as much research on them as possible. I´ll have to do some research on Sawu to see what the life is like there as well as Savus in the wild. What substrate do you use?

My adults are on newspaper but as babies I used aspen since they liked to burrow. You could use aspen with adults if you want them in a naturalistic setup but they tend to fling it all over the place.

    Anyone know any breeders?

See the Facebook group "Awesome Liaisis" for breeders. Not many people working with them though.

This is the wrong time of year to be buying, most females are just now laying their clutches, and you rarely find adults for sale.

I´m not planning on buying anytime soon. I will check them out.

Sorry for all the questions, what is your heating source? Do they need a basking spot or would a UTH w/ thermostat work?
