    Urgent! Lost ball python
About 2 days ago, i lost my beloved pastel ball python. She is still a juvenile and i have had her for 3 months before she escaped. I have her cage open on the floor, the UTH under a towel and her favorite hide, along with a red light to get more heat. Besides that, i have aluminum foil lined up so i can hear any movement. what are some other tips & tricks?

You can try thawing a rodent and leaving it inside the enclosure, that may lure her back inside. Leave some water out for her as well.

If you have any pets like cats or dogs try to keep them out of the room as they are known to kill loose snakes if they find them.

Good luck with getting your BP back, they usually don't stray far and I hope she will turn up soon!

Another trick. Get a nanny cam or some other type of camera an mount it or them on the ceilling shooting down. Then have the pics sent to the phone or laptop ...

Live rodent in a wire cage or put an oil filled type heater on one side of room an turn the heat off to the rest.

If you have furniture in the room, get it out an search it. If the snake could be anyplace in the house, close off rooms an search one by one.

    Good luck!

Sounds real promising I had success doing that exact same thing .. my King snake reappeared two weeks later and I found it asleep over the heat mat ..

Some people spread talcum powder or flour around all the skirting boards and check for snake trails each morning

We've had luck with plastic grocery bags around the edges of the room. The snakes like to hide in them and they make noise.

I've heard of using flour but PLEASE DON'T USE TALCUM POWDER...it can negatively impact the snake's lung & because of asbestos impurities has been thought responsible for some types of cancer. Just please don't do this.

Sorry to hear about the literal loss of your snake...don't give up, look in all the tight dark spaces...snakes love closets, & BPs don't usually go very far. All the best! :snake:

Check inside of furniture. Your snake might be somewhere that it cannot get out of on it’s own. Speaking from experience. Had an escape once and found him inside the couch and another time my step son left the lid open without mentioning to me that he was messing with my snakes and found one inside a trash bag. The big idea sounds like it will work as well. Good luck!!
