What are your thoughts on this guy?
Don't know the pairing that produced him, but being sold as just a pastel.
Thinking maybe pastel calico/sugar low white? Pastel orange dream?

You are right: It doesn't look like a straight up Pastel. The problem is that there could be any number of genes creating that patterning from Co-Doms to Het Recessives.

Since the breeder is selling it as a 'Pastel' it will be up to the buyer to proof breed and identify what gene(s) it is carrying. We could guess at the gene, but, you would not know for certain. Given the time/space/energy to proof breed...I personally would rather pay extra to know what genes I am working with in the beginning then have an unidentified gene influencing my collection. :)

There is a lot more than Pastel there however I will also encourage you to do some research on the breeder.

There are no other animals on their page yet they specializes in ball pythons, also the page was created on March 10, 2020 and that along with a picture taken at a show and not being able to distinguish a pastel from a pastel combo should raise huge red flags. Not saying they are not legit but do your homework.

First question to ask is if they can provide you with current pictures including one on a scale.
