CHE with a tub?

I have quick question. Is it possible to hang a CHE above the tub to raise ambient temps? I am having trouble with the ambient temps in my sterlite tub. I do have a UTH but its only providing belly heat and unless I heat my whole bedroom with oil heater next to tub its impossible. I have been thinking of hanging a che above it.
Will the CHE melt the top of tub? If hung 12 inches or so above it? And is 150 watt overkill? Thanks

Probably. Ran mine (100watt CHE) on a herpstat at 80% max power. Thermostat is crucial

I actually decided to try a second uth 1st. On cool side. Bottom of the tub is good. Just once you get a few inches above it it cools way down

UTHs are good for belly heat but can't raise ambient temperatures, so if your ambients are low you will need a CHE. 150W is definitely overkill, I have a 100W and I think even that is a bit much. I think a 75W would be enough. How big is your tub? The wattage of CHE you use would depend on that.

Also, as mentioned above, you MUST use a reliable thermostat with a CHE, UTH, and or any other heat source. Both UTHs and CHEs can get REALLY hot and burn or kill a snake if not regulated by a thermostat.
