    Breeding Question
I’m new to breeding, but I’ve done my fair bit of research. A while ago, I put our 3 year old female with our 2 year old male. I put them in a tank together, with a water dish. The tank is completely blacked out so they have privacy, and it’s mostly dark inside. They were getting along well, and eventually the male locked (I’m assuming, the tails were wrapped just like they show in google images) however, it only lasted 2-3 hours and I was just wondering if that would count for anything. A few days later, I put them in again, same setup, and they ended up locking before we fell asleep. When we woke up in the morning their tails were not tied but each tail was side by side. So I’m not exactly sure how long that lasted for. I plan on waiting a week or two to try again.

Locks last from a few hours to a few day so it is normal, also there is no need to put your male with the female that often once a month will get the job done, twice if you did not see a lock is the most I would do.
