Baby snake, didn't absorb its yolk.
So I have a baby snake that did not absorb its yolk coming out of the egg and I've had the hardest time keeping it alive. I have ad to assist feed the baby twice now just to keep its weight up but I don't want to push it too much because it seems very weak. It was unable to shed so I don't know whether I should soak it because I'm afraid with the lack of energy it may drown or I could just wrap it in a damp cloth. I could also just let it live and worry about the shed when it is in a better state. Any ideas? Has anybody had anything like this happen to them? I will try to upload a pic.

This was before its feeding and I'll assist another soon based on energy. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...45461b9505.jpg

Soak it in shallow water, but, only for a few minutes so you don't stress it out too much. Make sure the shed comes off the eyes and is split somewhere on the body so it doesn't form a stricture. It will be unsightly at that point--but not fatal.
Depending upon body condition you may need to continue to assist feed before the shed comes off. The food item should be the size of the broadest part of the head--smaller food items aren't doing you a favor since you would need to feed multiples and inflict more stress.
If you can assist feed prey items every 7 days without causing too much stress, your setup is ideal, and there is no underlying health issue: then you should be able to recover this snake. :)
