Tanks at Repticon
I am looking to buy a 60-75 gallon tank and was wondering if any of you have an idea of how much a tank around that size might cost at Repticon? The reptile shop near me has a 75 gallon for $330 so I want to know if it’s worth it to wait for the next repticon in my area.

If you're using this for a Ball Python, you'd be well ahead of the game to sink that kind of money into an appropriate PVC Enclosure over a glass one, In my opinion.
Best,

Agreed with the above that big will be a nightmare to heat and offer proper gradient, glass is not the best insulator, a PVC cage however will be. Not to mention if you want to go with a tank a 40 gallons breeder will be enough even for a female.
There are plenty of reptile supply vendor at repticon and usually prices are much cheaper than your average pet store, for example the cages I have bought were $80 versus $120/$130 in pet stores.

Re: Tanks at Repticon
I have my ball in a 90 gallon and it has a perfect gradient. I use a heat mat with thermostat on one side with a heat lamp 75 watt and the overall temp in the room is 77. So the left is 92 and the right is 77. So it is possible to do with glass. Although the only problem is well the size. If I could do it over I would just invest ina rack system. But since I’m not a breeder and it’s for viewing it works great.

Re: Tanks at Repticon
I have 2 snakes in glass enclosures, they can definitely work, but I agree that applying those same funds towards a nice PVC enclosure is a much better investment. You can get a T8 from Animal Plastics for $165 and still have room for some bells and whistles like a shelf and LED lights.

I bought my Reptihabitat 75 gallon from a local pet store for $280ish (After the manager agreed to price match). While it is true that a PVC is better for ball pythons, that 75 gallon can be used for anything else too if you plan to keep other types of herps, like a bearded dragon (like mine but it previously was purchased for my king) or small turtles because it can hold water and it has a hole predrilled on the bottom. I have checked my local repticons as well as the Daytona show... For the same thing, the price hovered around $300 to $350 as well. Online prices are slightly cheaper but shipping is usually not allowed. If your local pet store agrees to price match, and you really want this tank, it would be more convenient to get it now than later at a show when you might need that space in your car for a different purchase.

What are you wanting to use the 60-75 for? One particular animal or do you have possibly more than one kind of animal in mind?
I would wait and mean while search. That is a lot of money when maybe you could search on local selling sites and find something used that the seller doesn't need anymore at a lot cheaper price. Does the tank you want have to be brand new? Does it have to be a glass tank, what about what the others are saying about PVC?
I would wait and see what the next Repticon has too offer you can always go back to the pet store. I doubt the price will go up much since it is already pretty high.

Tanks are bulky, heavy, expensive, and crack easily so you don't often see them at expos, especially in that size. You're a lot more likely to find a PVC enclosure, especially since they can be flat-packed, you'll pay less for it, and it will cost you less to set up and run over time because it insulates better.

If you are just needing the glass I know Uncle Bills near me and other big box pet stores have $1.00 per gallon sales on tanks a few times a year. I won't comment on the size and glass v. PVC etc. I just know if I wanted a 70-90 gallon aquarium for any reason I wouldn't pay that much for it.

Petco does that but it's only up to like 29 gallons.
