    Thermometer/Hygrometer Recommendation
Hello, heavy posting day for me today I guess.

So I am officially in the market for a new thermometer/hygrometer. I had one of the crap cheap ones that are actually for humidors I think, just to tide me over. It died this morning. All my heat sources are regulated and I constantly monitor them with my IR thermometer but I need a more accurate way to monitor the humidity and ambient. I know a lot of folks here use Accu-Rite but they have SO many different kinds!! Could any of y'all hook me up with some links to the model you prefer? Just a little bit overwhelmed here on Amazon lol.

As far as I can tell the display is the only difference. They certainly do the trick.

Here is the one I have. I kept it in my kitchen for several days before I put it in the tank and tested the probe temp with my temp gun. It was within 1 degree each time I checked it. I have no way to see if the humidity side of it is accurate but it appears to work because it goes up and down when I cover or uncover the tank and when I mist it it goes up to around 80 and as me CHE is running it will drop down over the day or two. So I assume it is close as well.

Hmmm I like the idea of the probes so I dont have to keep the main unit inside the enclosure. I worry about it falling over on her if she bumps it. But the accurite is a bit cheaper... I did get the idea to hang it up with a zip tie from some thread on here some where...

No, no issue with the magnet. And don't worry about them hurting the snake, they're super light. They do get knocked over and pushed around sometimes tgough, I will say that.

I do know of plenty of people who use the probed ones and like them. I originally started with the ones I use so I didn't have to put any more holes in my enclosures and I just stuck with them.

I think i am gonna go with that one then. I have a bin setup so I already have holes in the side if I need them lol, but that one is cheaper and I just like the look of it the best. Probably will use a ziptie to secure it to the side tho, just in case lol.

Certainly won't hurt to ziptie it :gj:
