    Alcohol Hand Sanitizer
    Hi

Does anyone use or have used alcohol Hand sanitizer as an enclosure disinfectant?

I have access to lots of it, would be great if I could use it.

Alcohol is highly volatile and the fumes really bother snakes. If you disinfected all of your enclosures in a ventilated area away from your reptiles and then let them air dry before returning them into use-then sure-you could safely use hand sanitizer (assuming it has no extra skin care/scent additives). Too much time/effort for too little savings IMO. :)

The thing is, it has other ingredients so it doesn't irritate skin, so those ingredients might leave a trace on your cages...since cages are plastic, not "skin".
I wouldn't use it for that reason...I clean cages w/ diluted chlorhexidine (or F10), which you can just wipe dry with no rinsing needed, & no volatile fumes.
