    Cupcake progression thread
My daughters snake, which she named Cupcake. We rescued from the local shelter. We just got it yesterday, so we are letting it settle in. The shelter did not know the gender, but due to the size we think its a female. We will be taking her to the vet in the next couple of weeks to confirm. She had a very active first night, and has finally started resting in her hides this morning!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...385b4c154a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...fa2068b5db.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...366a7c2ccd.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d0a8b840c0.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4bfd0d019e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...419bfcb068.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ba4b360946.jpg

Congrats on your new noodle! I can't get over how cute she is, especially that sweet face. Cupcake is an adorable name and your daughter is very lucky to have the opportunity to have a snake as a pet, many parents would not be willing to let their kids keep reptiles. Glad to hear Cupcake is settling in. It looks like she actually rather enjoyed climbing on that temporary box hide you gave her initially haha

How old is your daughter? I got a ball python when I was 7 that I had until I was in my 20s. Even though I love snakes and started collecting again, I'd say I didn't have much of an emotional attachment to it because I got it when I was so young, so I wasn't giving the proper care that I could've been. Everyone is different though, so I'm certainly not naysaying or anything, just that you should encourage them bonding to facilitate a long lasting relationship.

I would assume most people think my name just means I’m into dungeons and dragons. It actually just means dad and daughter. She wanted a snake, I love snakes so we got one. As with all critters, the shine has worn a bit on a young child but she still loves it calls it her baby and means well. So dad does the duty and I love it, we have fun and keeping our snake has definitely helped us bond. I hope the same for you and your daughter
