    Ghost Breeding Question
    Hello everyone,

I am thinking about possibly getting into ball python breeding in the future and had a question about ghosts. I was offered a female ghost mojave from a breeder, but I am unsure about breeding her. I have seen so many things about how female ghosts are infertile, or shouldn't be bred. Is this true? And what are the exact reasons for that? I have seen a couple of videos on youtube from breeders who have bred them successfully.

I guess I'm just unsure if I should put the money into getting this girl and not being able to use her for future breeding.

I do apologize if this is a dumb question btw. I will attach a picture of the girl in question.

Thank you everyone for your help!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f8c8a2208a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ca345f3b7b.jpg

I think you may be confusing "ghosts" with the gene called "desert." To my knowledge, you can expect average fertility in both males and females in all lines of "ghost," "mojave" and even another type of morph called "desert ghost." The problems occur with the "desert" morph.

I haven't heard anything ever about hypo breeding issues.

Ghost breed just fine, here is the list of animals with issues http://www.owalreptiles.com/issues.php , also before diving head first I highly recommend that you ask yourself the right questions and do research in the right places because this is more than putting 2 snakes together.

This. Also to note, there is a desert gene and a desert ghost gene which may be further confusing the issue. The Desert gene is the issue. Desert ghosts breed just fine.
