happy turkey day!
so tell us what you are thankful for this year and i'm also curious to know what is one thing your family *always* has on thanksgiving?
i am thankful for my amazing husband and true crime shows.
and my family comes from a long line of watermen so we always have something crab related - crab balls or crab dip.

Re: happy turkey day!
Hello, I am thankful for an amazing family and the lives we share, my children and grandchildren and all their accomplishments. Thankful for peace and understanding everywhere. We usually have 'pernil as a side meat on Thansgiving, it's a type of Latin roast pork dish.

This has been the season for home improvements here (like a new HVAC, new garage door & new hot water heater), & I'm very thankful that nothing prompted
emergency repairs; instead, everything "waited" for good timing, & even good weather during which to make the needed upgrades. It's always better to have the
time to research for the best replacements than to be forced into a hasty decision...especially the HVAC. I'm especially grateful to my old Trane, that never failed
in the sweltering summer, nor in the freeze of winter, & "lived" a good long life of 18 years, lol.
I'm also thankful to be nearly done with bagging up the endless bounty of leaves from the many trees on my property, & happy to be able to give them to a very
nice local organic farmer to compost, instead of paying the town for pickup & disposal. He also shares some growing tips with me. :D
And while no one's life is perfect, including mine, this is a good day to think about all that we have that's good, things that others can only wish they had. Or as I
like to say, "it could be worse", lol.
I'm also thankful for this forum community as a way to share the ups & downs of snake keeping as well as the love of nature & other animals, be they pets or wild.
For me, Thanksgiving REQUIRES roast turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes & gravy...:chew: The rest is negotiable.

happy turkey day!
Thankful for good friends and family, a growing career, my scaly critters, and pumpkin pie! That is my absolute must have at thanksgiving. My dad always makes fried turkey tenders from a bird he kills every year but I haven’t been home for the holiday in a few years.

Happy Thanksgiving all!!!
This has been a year of ups and downs for me. Some awesome highs and some pretty tough lows. But I am thankful today and everyday for my family, my fiance and most importantly, my sobriety. Without being clean and sober I'd have no family, no fiance and I'd likely be dead or in jail.
I'm also thankful this year that my grandfather lived a long, happy life and I was able to spend 40 years with him. I know today he's looking down on us and Memere and Pepere are having Thanksgiving together again. I miss you both like crazy, and I'll see you again when my time comes. I love you both.
Unfortunately, most of my extended family has gone seperate ways, so a lot of tradition has died off with time. I sure would have loved a slice of Memere's pork pie today though!!!
