    Carpet Python Rescue need suggestions

    Hi all,
It's been a while since I posted. I took on a rescue carpet python tonight. She is in dire need of medical attention. It looks like she has a severe case of mouth rot and or a RI which has caused her head to swell to the point where I cannot see her nose holes and she has swelling of the top of her head which has almost entirely engulfed her eye on the right side. I am going to take her to the vet as soon as I can get her in but with the thanksgiving holiday that may not be until Friday or Monday.
    My question is:

    1. has anyone else seen a snake recover from something this severe?
    2. what do you all think it looks like and have you ever had experience with it?
    3. is there something I can do for her at home to make her more comfortable until I can get to the vet?

thank you all in advance, any info you can give me is greatly appreciated. I have included the best pictures I could get of the damage.

(also she is quarantined in a different area of my house no where near my other herps.)

Severe abscess needing surgical intervention, would be my guess. Euthanasia might be kinder but vet should evaluate as to whether or not this is too advanced for
a likely success. Proximity to vital functions (brain, eyes, mouth & ability to smell) & that it's been let go so long don't improve the odds...very sad. Tell them it's an
emergency when you call & good luck. Let us know? Whoever let this animal suffer this long should probably be reported & charged with animal cruelty.
