Rice as bottom layer substrate ?
Hi i think my other post is way to long and no one wants to answer so i decided to follow my own advice and use some initiative.

My area is 80% plus humidity half year round ,
now rice in the enclosure will deff bring the humidity down but is it safe for the ball python ? he is a sub adult

i will cover the rice with reptibark but he does still burrow with his face

It's only been a half hour since you posted the last thread. Be patient, we're not all just sitting around waiting for a new thread....

As for rice, sounds like a bad idea to me. Where'd you even come up with that???

Rice would soak up humidity, urine, etc...and eventually you'll have rice rotting in your enclosure.

Please don't put rice in the enclosure.. Also if you double post like this the admins will take them down.. Give us a few minutes and we will reply to the other thread. There is about 40 questions in it.

I thought of the rotting rice at the bottom to maybe have it in a jar with holes and exchange the jar every second day thats a lot of rice to buy though.

My bad I thought that i just rambled way too much and no one has the energy for that lol.

I'll figure it out , everyone on here is awesome btw !

Why not just go with what has traditionally been working for keepers around the world for years?

You're brand new in the hobby, just stick to basics
