    BP might have swallowed plastic
Hello all, my girl struck a little wonky during feeding this past weekend (Saturday specifically) and one of her plastic decor plants got caught between her and the rat. I plucked it away easy enough, and she ate like normal.

Then just today, I was cleaning her tank because she urinated when I noticed the plastic plant had a chunk torn off one of its leaves. I had already thrown away the soiled paper towels and might have noticed a tiny green fleck in passing, but nothing big enough to account for the missing leaf.

I worry she ingested it along with her rat. She hasn't shown any signs of illness or distress since the feeding, but I also don't know much at all about this topic. Should I take her to the vet asap? Or wait until she passes stool to see if she passes the plastic?

Included are two pictures, the first being of a normal leaf on the plant; the second being the leaf missing a chunk. For comparison, each leaf is about the size of my pinky.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b98411167e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...62ddfd6b4a.jpg

Seems very unlikely that a snake would or could have swallowed a plastic leaf with 'dinner'...it would have fallen away, out of her mouth, I think. If she acts
ill, then take her to the vet, but if not, I'd assume you're mistaken & she didn't ingest it. Are you SURE the plant wasn't damaged before & you just didn't notice?

Thank you for the reassurance. I also figured it was highly improbable, if not for wondering where the leaf might have disappeared to. I'm near 100% positive the plant was not previously damaged, as I cleaned it the night before feeding when she shed and made a mess.

Well, one good thing about plastic plants is that snake teeth do NOT catch on them...that's why I think her swallowing is very unlikely. Silk plants or any
fabric in a snake cage is another matter...if their teeth can snag something, they will.
