Deli cups and PVC holder for water bowl questions. Thank you!
Hi guys! My ball pythons often push their water bowls around and damp the substrates and rise the humidity...and make substrates in their water bowls. Also the substrates stick on the bottom of the water bowls which make it hard to clean. I saw the idea of deli cups+pvc holders here in some posts and it looks like an amazing solution!

So may I know what size of deli cups I should get and which pvc holders match the cups?
And where should I get them?
Do I need to use silicone to attach the pvc ring to the tub to make it not be moved by the snakes or it's no necessary?
Can I wash the deli cups and reuse it? How often do you replace or wash it?
Thank you so much for your help!!

You need 4 inch pvc pipe and and those deli cups https://www.webstaurantstore.com/cho...RD16WBULK.html

I don't recommend attaching those to your tubs if you want to be able to provide a good cleaning, (unless you have tubs with molded cup holders dirt, poop etc will get everywhere and will be hard to clean)

Pipe and deli cup are not full proof some animals still manage to tip them over (rare but it happens)

You can re-use the cups and replace as needed.

I have use all type of water dish over the year including pvc pipes and honestly the only full proof dish are stoneware dishes or those https://www.dollartree.com/round-pla...-975-in/186283 and it's a one time cost not something you dispose of and have to replace.

Thank you so much!! That's really helpful! So any type of 4 inch pvc pipe will fit those cups right? Did you get if from home depot and do you think pvc pipe is safe for them? I mean chemicals stuff. May I know what is your final choice? Do you have a link for the stoneware dishes or your final choice is the plastic pet bowls? Thank you so much!:D

How long should I make the pipe? enough for it to sit all the way in, or should the deli cup be touching the bottom of the tub?

As far as PVC pipe this is what you are looking for https://www.homedepot.com/p/4-in-x-1...1103/100156409

For stoneware dishes either 5 or 9.5 inches https://www.amazon.com/Ethical-2-Inc...U3Q?th=1&psc=1

I personally use the plastic dish from the dollar store for my adults, never had one being tipped over even by the largest females.

For juvies I use PVC pipes and deli cups.

Would you be willing to provide a photo of the dish you get from the dollar store please?

Thank you so much! And may I know that do your snakes put substrate inside the water bowl and do your substrate often stick on the under bottom of your water bowl? I use reptile prime recently and a lot of them will stick on the bottom which drop dirt all the way to the bathroom where I change the water and wash the water bowl

Ah I just found this! May I know that do you think stainless steel will work for snakes?

I recently switched to stainless for all of my snakes, used to use the plastic bols similar to what Deborah posted.
I remove the rubber ring around the base, so they do slide around but I don't want muck and poo getting caught up in there.
    Really like them.
