    I'm a little confused
So what else is new? :P

I'm considering moving to Sterilite tubs and I've been picking Cody's brain on another forum we both frequent, but I'll ask here too.

1st) What model do those of you who keep your balls in Sterilites (don't go there!!!;) ) use? I know Cody uses 1995.

2nd) The terra cotta water catches at my Home Depot look too low already for Kashmire

3rd) Where do you attach your FlexWatt? Directly to the bottom of the enclosure, or onto the table or rack that you have the enclosure on?

4th) The confusion part  - where does the probe go from the thermostat? I saw Cody had his taped directly onto the hot side of his FlexWatt, I always thought you would want to measure the temp that your snake is actually on. So, if the Flexwatt heats through plastic then whatever substrate you have, wouldn't you want to measure the actual temp that the snake is on when on the warm side, and wouldn't the probe directly on the Flexwatt make the actual temp that reaches the snake be less than your set temp on the thermostat? Seemed intuitive to me, until I saw it done ways I didn't think about.

    Thanks!

    1) I don't look at model numbers.. 3' long tub for an adult BP, smaller for smaller snakes. Simple.

    2) Get a bigger one.. ? lol

3)I just set it on the shelf/floor below the tank. You can attach it to the tub with a bit of tape if you wish.

4)I don't have a T-stat yet, so I don't know what to tell you here.

Therein lies the problem! The ones that were bigger were too wide for Kashmire's current 20 gallon tall aquarium (and not much taller, I might add, and these were the largest they had). I did buy a low pot, but broke it when I tried to make an entrance hole. Thank goodness it was only $1.00 so I'll get another and try again!

Get the plastic ones instead of terra cotta, and get a soldering gun. Melt an entry hole, and melt off some off of one (or both) sides so it fits in the tank. Alternately, use a kitty litter pan (melt a hole, again) or something square.
