    Dirt? Beginning of mouth rot?
Hello again, so I recently took my new ball python home about a week ago and I've noticed something down the slit of her upper mouth but can't quite make out what it is, this might be a silly post but I'm still scared, I'm also too scared to try and wipe it down with a damp paper towel because I'm trying to handle her as little as possible since she did just move in. Please help

To know if you have the beginning of mouth rot simply open the mouth, as I have mentioned before mouth rot is INSIDE the mouth.

This to me looks like dirt and it will come out with the next shed. Substrate such as eco earth and other dark coconut substrate will often lodge itself between scale throughout the body.

I agree with Deborah, it looks like dirt, so either wipe gently with a damp Q-tip (to see if it comes off) or be patient (the far better option). ;) Dirt happens...

Ah then most likely since I use a mixture of Forest floor and coconut fiber
