I though he was in shed. (Help)
My BP hasn’t come out of his hide for about two weeks, until now. I thought he was in shed because he hasn’t been out for so long. I’ve had the humidity between 70-80% , put moss around the viv an everything, an now he’s out and it doesn’t look like he’s in shed at all. & I’ve checked and there’s no old shed.
I’ve probably just gave him an IR.

He’s been in the hide on the hot end & he usually does the shedding inside the hide. So I’m quite surprised that he’s come out an he hasn’t done it. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...83ef5740db.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...657c65ad8d.jpg

Too far to tell...sometimes you can tell by the way the folds of skin look on their neck when coiled, etc. Have you looked at the scutes?
And maybe he's just played a joke on you? ;)

Is it possible for him to be in shed & come out of his hide to wander round?

Sure...he might be trying to "undress"...keep his humidity up. But if he was my snake, I'd first be taking a closer look...you should be able to tell if his eyes are hazy
in a dark room by shining a tiny flashlight beam across them from the side, or by looking at his scutes. Another thing snakes sometimes do before shedding is yawn to
loosen the old skin around their mouths. It sure would be nice if they could just come out & tell us...;)

It’s 4:30am here, I’m best checking later on. His eyes don’t seem hazy.

Glad to hear he finally shed :) I guess he just wanted to take you for a ride first haha. Mine did something similar to me before, went into blue for like a day, next day all clear, then stayed holed up and didn't shed for a few days longer time than the standard 24-72 hours, and left me thinking maybe I misread the signs or something was wrong. Took him out to see if there were any problems, and then he started shedding in my hands! Snakes just love to keep us guessing, it seems.
